The video downloader add-on does not work videos on some sites
I have had no trouble downloading videos from Youtube, but when I try to use the add-on for videos on local news station websites I run into a multitude of problems. Sometimes it will only download a 10 second clip, while others times the downloaded video will not play.

You would have to contact the author of the extension for support if there are problems with the extension. You can find contact information on its page on the Add-ons website.
Well I could not find the author of the extension on the Add on website. Do you have any other advice
