Is Xmarks functional? It hasn't worked for a week and setup wizard also does not work.

The last time Xmarks worked was October 25. I am logged in correctly and it tries to synchronize, but never completes. Even the Xmarks setup wizard fails to operate. This has been a very handy addon in the past an I hope it will resume working.

I had this problem too. I am running Firefox 25.0 and was using Xmarks 4.2.1. Sync would not complete. I downloaded Xmarks 4.2.3 from the Xmarks web site (not the Mozilla Add-ons site, which apparently has 4.2.1) and now everything seems OK.

Hi,

This is a known issue with Xmarks, please uninstall and reinstall the plugin. Go through first-time sync and then it should work as normal.

Thanks for your suggestion but it did not work after deleting Xmarks and reinstalling. What did you mean about "first time sync"? Just click on "Synchronize Now"? By the way, I have 3 PC's and one syncs fine but the other two do not.

Got it working. I removed it from Firefox. Restarted. Went to the Xmarks web site and downloaded it from there. All is OK now. Thanks.

I have been having the same problem for weeks now, with increasing regularity, on more and more computers. Started on my Xubuntu laptop a couple months ago, then my wife's account on my home desktop several weeks ago, then my account on the same desktop last week, and just this week my account on my office desktop.

I found the following response under a similar issue on this site:

After installing the latest version, XMarks now works again on my office desktop. I will try the same fix on both accounts of my home desktop tonight, which hopefully will work. It seems Mozilla's addon site STILL has v4.2.1, while XMarks has now released v4.2.5. And I'm guessing something in v4.2.1 (and possibly older versions) is causing this problem with XMarks never completing, as I never had a problem like this before.
