Have you checked the Task Manager to see if their is a process running for that software. If so, right click the process name and select 'End Process'. To access Task Manager, right click your Taskbar and select 'Start Task Manager'.

You can also check 'Services' by typing services in the Start Menu search box, and pressing Enter. See if firefox added a service there that needs to be disabled.

I tried the task manager and process tab and firefox nor Mozilla shows up on the tab. when I type services I get this "see screen cap attached"

I don't even know if I am using this forum correctly ? I did post a reply to you stating that I had tried your suggestions and still was unable to fix my issue

See:

Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

Ok I was able to get to the profile manager and create a new profile. Now Firefox is opening again however when I to re open the profile manager window in order move my bookmarks to my new profile. it just keeps opening a new firefox window instead of the profile window

You can only open the Profile Manager if all Firefox windows are closed.

Otherwise you need to start Firefox with a second profile and use the -no-remote command line switch.
