I don't use IDM, but I noticed they released an update yesterday (news page). Perhaps that addresses the issue?
Many extensions can be updated using the following menu, but for extensions managed by external programs, you usually need to update the external program.
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > "gear" icon > "Check for Updates"
