When ever I register onto a website through firefox the next time I try to enter the website it does not recognize my login. Even when I know for sure that the username and passwords are correct. I then try to ask for a new password or a reset and when it is sent to me and I try it, I am told that the username and password to not match. I then try to enter the website on Internet Explorer and it works. My default browser is firefox, I like to use firefox so it becomes very inconvenient to have to switch browsers just to log into a website. This problem even happened as I tried to log into this forum to ask this question. Getting very tired of this.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that aren't send or otherwise blocked.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
