Every time I start up Firefox after the update, the "What's new in Firefox" tab loads, how do I make it go away?

I updated to this latest version, and now every time I start up my browser, in addition to my normal homepage, the "What's New in Firefox" tab comes up, as if I just installed the update.

Hi,

You may have to delete the address , if it is listed in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > General > Home Page.

It's not listed as a homepage (one of the first things I checked) Also, I've realized that reverting to a default homepage is not saving my preferences, so I'll be checking out that fix now. Maybe that has something to do with the update tab showing up every time.

Like bdoomed, I have precisely the same problem.

Knew enough to do customary trouble shoot. Moz Start was never listed in start tab or home tab. I have checked this repeatedly and also changed these multiple times. It always reverts to showing blank but the Mozilla Start page loads anyway.

I also do not have session mgr activated. The Mozilla Start comes up every single time. It also visibly shows the checking of add-ons before Firefox loads in a way that is much slower and more obvious than any other version. Very strange behavior. I will try to revert to an earlier version.

It would be helpful if someone could provide the listing of the Firefox installation folder. It should be easy from a command prompt. After browsing (eg. cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox" ) to the Firefox installation folder (Mozilla Firefox) in the command prompt, typing dir /SOD > a.txt would create a text file named a in the Firefox installation folder with the contents of the folder sorted date wise and that contents can be pasted here. Type cd/? and dir/? for detailed info on the commands.

Did you try to remove the prefs files (prefs.js and possible prefs-##.js files with a number)?
