I and a colleague have investigated this issue and have determined that it appears to be firefox related and not MS Office or IE. When in firefox I would have to copy a cell of data from Excel either through right click or Ctrl-C and paste into a web-based application through firefox. Right click paste or Ctrl-V did not work. The paste option was greyed out in both instances. In Excel I could use either option to copy and paste from one spreadsheet to another, can copy paste from excel to IE to the same web-based app and copy from IE back out to Excel. Additionally, I can copy from Firefox and paste back into Excel. This also is not machine specific...this has been tested on at least two other machines with the same results.

The Edit text is always grayed, but the three buttons next to it should become enabled if there is something to do like Copy if text is selected. You can hover the arrow at the right to get a menu with Cut, Copy, and Paste.
