all of my gadgets have disappeared from my Firefox Igoogle home page. I can't restore from a previous date but everything is fine in Crome. I see them briefly as the page opens up and then all I get is my theme at the top and bottom with a blank strip in the middle where the gadgets should be. Does anyone have a current fix for this? I saw that Avast caused a problem but I don't have that. There was a url that someone posted that restored everything but it isn't permanent.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I tried what you suggested but the problem remains. I have reloaded Firefox also, uninstalled what was there and still no change. For a brief moment as my home page is starting up I see the page layout and then it goes blank in that area. I cannot even add any new gadgets. I can also get a condensed view of my gadgets if I scroll in the Google Tab bar on the left side of my screen and can click on the partial image and it will open up but can't do anything with the setting as the area just clears I also have a duel boot using Ubuntu, Firefox is the browser and the same problem happens but if I use Chrome (Vista) it is fine. The only thing that changed before this happened was that I downloaded Drop Box for my I Phone. Everything else works just fine, nothing has changed, have restarted several times also so........?????? Any other ideas? Thanks

Well, I tried that and it did restore my gadgets but I failed to notice your note about not making any changes to the Safe mode start window, was following the support page info, clicked on a few things to save and ended up with a whole new Firefox window. Oh well.....will start all over, picked a new theme and when I tried to make I Google my default home page......the same problem happened. I end up with the blank area and I can not add any gadgets. I then tried going to safe mode again, this time skipping the start mode window and yes everything returned but when I exit and return I get the blank area, no gadgets. Is there something in I Google that is causing this problem? Again thanks for your help

Found the problem! In TOOLS, click Add-ons, extensions. I had installed an" I Google tab remover 1.9.8 ". This was causing the problem I suspect it is incompatible with a current update?????? I disabled it and everything is as it was before.
