I cannot paste anything to Firefox, I used to be able. It tells me to add browser preferences, looks complicated. Why is this happening??

I cannot not copy or paste anything into Firefox. I was always allowed. Now is says to "To protect users' private information, unprivileged scripts cannot invoke the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands in the Mozilla rich text editor, so the corresponding buttons on the Mozilla Rich Text Editing demo page will not work. To enable these functions for purposes of the demo, you must modify your browser preferences". Why is this all of a sudden happening, I never changed any of my preferences??? It does give me instructions on what to do, but I do not want to take a chance on messing it up. HELP!!!
