I had trouble getting into one of my email accounts. I changed the password but firefox did not update it even though I clicked update. Things go all messed up with the email account and so I deleted the website, ID and password from the list in Options thinking firefox would ask me again if I wanted to save the ID and password when I went to the site the next time. Firefox didn't ask and now I don't know what to do to get firefox to save the information again except to remove it completely from my computer and start over

Try using this extension to add that username & password to Firefox.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history

  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
