Since downloading this new version of FF, 7.0.1, I have had nothing but issues on my Mac desktop running OSX 10.5.8 -- I cannot send email to students via my Angel course site from our college (Bristol Community College), the computer freezes up often when switching tabs, it also freezes often when opening up a new tab and trying to go to Google via a toolbar link. There have been several other issues noted as well, though I cannot recall them at this time. My question is can I download an older version of FF and still keep this new one (can I have two apps on the computer at one time)? Also if I do, what happens to plug-ins and add-ons?

Yes, although it may be considered an advanced topic. (I speak from a PC perspective but guess a Mac is similar, read the linked articles to try to confirm this is possible on a Mac)

Firefox 3.6.23 is at the moment still supported and secure so you may safely download and use that. If you do a custom install and do NOT uninstall your current version you then have two versions on your computer.

CARE do not take options to remove settings, or however they are worded, that will attempt to remove all profile data from all installed versions of firefox, and you loose bookmarks and passwords etc, with the only method of recovery (other than backups) needing luck and timely use of suitable file undelete tools.

You will need a separate profile for each version.
