Why is the Find Bar always appearing without using control F as soon as I enter a letter in the address bar, search bar, a password bar, anywhere

When I open firefox and start entering a letter anywhere on the home page, address bar or any other page, it opens the find bar, the cursor leaves the area I'm trying to enter, puts the entry in and starts searching the page I'm on. I do not do a control F or select the option in the edit tool area. When I close out the find bar, it stays close unless I open another tab. Very, very aggravating.
