How do I make an indentation in an email, since the tab key won't do this, and there is nowhere to switch off the function where it switches focus?

I understand that for accessibility reasons the tab key is 100% devoted to switching focus in Firefox. However, I really hate that it does then in email bodies. There is no way to turn this feature off it seems, so how can I make an indentation. I tried adding Tabinta, but that does not work in the email clients that I use. This is driving me insane, please tell me how I can make a simple indentation in an email document. This is a common necessity, so I can't believe there is no way to do it.

You can try the Tabinta extension or use a bookmarklet like this to paste a tab in a text area.

javascript:void(prompt('Paste Tab','>\t<'));

	This line is indented with a tab.

As I stated, Tabinta doesn't work in yahoo mail. Also, a bookmarklet like that seems a bit overkill just to make a tab, which is a basic function of any computer (they named a key after it). I understand a lot of people don't seem to care about proper writing these days, but I am not one of those. I always indent the first line of my paragraphs, especially in professional emails. There really should be some option to change which key switches focus, or at least choose a key that will indent a line for us. Just completely wiping out tab indentation altogether seems a little silly.
