Need a fix for the delay in cursor movement and typing.

I am using version 3.6.16 and am experiencing the above problem. It does not occur in other applications only Firefox. It is not limited to the mouse but occurs when I use the pointing device on my laptop. The delay in movement happens when I first try to either type or click my cursor. Movement is then normal until I stop and begin again. Then the delay is back. Thus it appears to happen only upon first usage. Could it perhaps be something keeping track of my movements? Thanks

I am going to have to abandon Firefox and go back to IE. The fact that there has been no response is extremely disheartening. I am quite sure there is some malware involved and don't want to risk ID theft. This kind of problem should be the #1 concern for a browser company. I have regrets because I like Firefox otherwise and think it superior to the other browsers on the market including IE. C'est la vie.
