I downloaded Ff v.4, and now my tabs are way on top of the page, above the address bar; how can I move them down to where they were before, just above the window? ...Thanks!
Another problem that was there before v.4, is that the bottom tab hides behind other tabs, so I have to close everything else to get to it. If you have advice on that too, it would be much appreciated.

Right-click the Navigation Toolbar and de-select Tabs on Top in that contextual menu.
