want to use firefox 4.0 but doesn't want to work with some of my anitvirus features
i have norton and i use the norton ips 2.0 but i cant seem to get it to work on 4.0 of firefox

Norton hasn't updated their Firefox extensions yet. Looks like it will be May before they get 360 updated for Firefox 4.0. You might want to postpone upgrading to Firefox 4.0 until Norton gets their act together, or dump Norton for a security suite that provides better support for their users and provides more timely updates for the programs they support.
