Some applications like Mafia Wars which you play and Farmville using a lot of memory for flash animations. Try to Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox

I have gone back to previous version and turned off auto updates , got fed up with flash hanging, Id rather have a browser that works quickly and crashed occaisionally than one that makes the internet run at a snails pace !

Flash games cause Firefox Plug-in container to hang. The problems started as soon as the plug-in container became a part of Firefox two updates ago.

Memory usage is up to 3 times what Firefox itself is using and when the hangs occur, the plug-in container is using in excess of 50% of the computer's memory. At this point, I need to switch to a different browser to play these games for longer than a few minutes at a time.

If you want to disable plugin-container, See this KB article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins

Lagging me like hell . Was wondering why youtube and flash was lagging so badly. Disabling that thing should be an option in the settings.

I don't want to disable dom.ipc.plugins.enabled;false I need my research.

What I discovered if I move my mouse around it unfreezes the youtube or any other video stream. This was after ending the plugin-container.exe *32bit several times over. Oh, and when is firefox coming to 64bit sans beta.
