Firefox - New Tabs just close(only once per restart)

more options

.... when either trying to open them by clicking "open link in new tab" or by manually opening a new tab, then typing something into the browser-line.

This has been an issue for me now for several versions of firefox ever since like 6 Months ago. It is very annoying, especially after having finished typing a rather long website-adress or search phrase, then hitting enter only to get the new tab closed right into my face without any further comments.

Help would be >MUCH< appreciated!

Cheers~

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

more options

Did not happen on Troubleshoot mode after a clean reboot. Happened right again after restart of firefox only, this time without troubleshoot mode. Does this mean, a plugin could be responsible? I am not using very many of them and i believe i did not alter my setup within the past few months except for a plugin called "dark reader" which helps to dye websites black that persistently like to show white backgrounds, like this one here.

Update: After removing Dark Reader, the problem persisted.

Only using Adblock and a proxy plugin aside from that which i have been using for years.

Hello again. I went into a testing spree and from the first look of it, (tests = 3 so far) with clean reboots in between, the culprit seems to be the proxy extension, that i am using for 3+ years now, yet rarely "activate". Disabling it solved the problem for now apparently. Will try to see if the problem does return, but otherwise leave it disabled for now. Thanks for your assistance so far zeroknight~

Edit: Issue never occurred again after this, thanks, problem is solved.
