I was away for a week and when I returned I could not get Thunderbird to download new newsgroup messages. I downloaded the new version of Thunderbird 102.2.2 but that only partially fixed the problem. I basically started fresh, but I was able to get new messages again. But right after upgrading to the latest version I noticed I would get an error message when I tried to post a message. I would have to try several times before the message would send. Most recently I have been getting a new message that says, "Status: assembling message…Done" The first couple of times I was able to get the message to go through by hitting cancel then send again. But that stopped working. Now it just shows the "sending message" box without sending.

I searched through help and saw several other people had a similar problem of not being able to send messages after upgrading to a new version, but I did not see a fix.
