Is there a way to change how I remove full screen when I am playing games online?

more options

When I play games online, when I move the cursor too far to the top, I get the drop down to end full screen. I don't want that. I want to choose to leave full screen when I want by pressing ESC. It messes up the game when that drop down menu pops down.

Hi neemobob, there are some internal preferences related to that informational drop-down. These modify how soon and for how long it is on the screen, so less time means it leaves more quickly. Here's how to play with those:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste full-s and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the full-screen-api.warning.delay preference to display an editing field, and change the value to 0 then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

(4) Double-click the full-screen-api.warning.timeout preference to display an editing field, and change the value to 30 then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

On mine, 30 gives a little blip. If I try values lower than 30, the results are inconsistent. Your mileage may vary.

If you ever want to reset one of these preferences to their original value, you can click the little left-pointing arrow at the right end of the row.
