Note that the description field has only been removed from the user interface in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) for now. This description field is still present in the places.sqlite database and you can export the bookmarks to an HTML file or create a JSON backup to have a backup copy that includes the descriptions.

Thank you for your reply, I have exported the bookmarks to a HTML file but that doesn't reveal the description box, it only reveals bookmark links.

Could you tell me how to reveal the description box from the database?

Hi, sorry about that. Strange place for passwords. Support Volunteers do not have control over these matters. You can find a lot of info in this question. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1232448

Not all bookmarks have a description field, so you may have to scroll down if you have many bookmarks. You can open the file in a Firefox tab to have the file rendered or open the file in a text editor and search for <dd> tags.

Thanks a lot cor-el, found most of them in the bookmarks HTML file, thanks again. Why did Mozilla feel the need to remove the description box?

How to get 'er back. First off Mozilla is going the way of Microsoft and doing it their way and not how you want it. To get back you "properties" with all the remarks in them you will have to go backwards. I just did this the other day when I found more complaints. The version you will end up with is 60.2.0esr (extended service release) which is for corporations that can't upgrade all the time. If you go to: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ pick you language and operating system, download the file (it should say firefox setup 60.2.0esr) and then install it. I didn't even have to delete the 62.0 as it installed right over it. I have my properties back with all the notes still in them. Mozilla may not like this reply and delete it. Hope it helps you as it worked for me.
