I have an ASUS DSL AC68U with modem and connected to that an Asus RT AC88U. When I originally set them up I could access each router via their ip address 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.50.1 respectively on my laptop. Also, each one came up in my wireless connections on my laptop and I chose to connect to the internet via the 88U with no problems. I then had trouble with my WD external hard drive and Sonos wireless music system and so had to turn off the routers for a short time.

After turning everything back on my HP laptop now only sees and shows the 68U wireless connection but not the 88U and when I try to go to either the 68u or 88u webpage to configure my routers, I just keep getting 'Unable to connect' from Firefox.

I have managed to connected to each via an Ethernet cable direct to my laptop and I can access them, it seems however that wirelessly I cannot.

Strange thing is my i-phone and i-pad and my partners Samsung phone see both connections and we can connect to either and access them via the web pages from the ip addresses given above..

Why is it my laptop running Firefox cannot now see the 88u or let me connect to either router, but it did a couple of weeks ago?

I am of the older generation who finds computers mostly an enigma, so please if you can help and your answer requires me to have to make alterations on my laptop, can you relay the answer in as simple a way as possible for me to follow?

My laptop is an HP Pavilion g6 running Windows 10 64bit.

Thanks for your help

Paul.

So how are the network setup? Is one a main and one repeater? Why do you need two router to connect to one ISP? I think your better off finding one that has the combo and connections you need. Duplicity wifi isn't going to increase your speed but higher change of collision in bandwidth.
