When I go to type in an web address in the address bar there is always a drop done list that appears. Is there a way I can remove this drop down list and only make it so that it does not appear when typing in a web address?

Hi gkharakh1, you can reduce the categories of information that appear in the drop-down below the blue line, but if you turn ALL of them off, unfortunately the bar stops working, so currently that isn't a practical workaround.

To disable search engine suggestions from appearing in the drop-down, there's a box you can uncheck on the Preferences page under Search. To disable Firefox from displaying matching bookmarks and history, there are boxes you can uncheck on the Preferences page under Privacy & Security (way at the bottom).

An alternate approach is to hide the drop-down using custom style rules. Firefox will still generate suggestions as well as the explanatory blue bar, but you won't see it. If the other approaches don't help, this would be something else to consider.
