Why am I not allowed to recheck the box under privacy and security that would allow me to remember logins and passwords? Not getting an answer to this!
The other day I went into Firefox to Options/Privacy & Security and unchecked the box 'Remember logins and passwords for websites' - had a scare thinking my laptop might have a virus. I cleared out my history and cookies, ran my virus software and all is OK. Found out the message I got was a scam! So today I went back into Options to activate the 'Remember logins and passwords for websites' box and I can't! What am I doing wrong!

Make sure not to enable permanent Private Browsing mode, which is similar to selecting "Never remember history".
