Folders Do No Expand On First Listed Account

I reported this a few days ago and it seemed I got around the problem by reinstalling Thunderbird. Not the case. This morning, I started Thunderbird and it crashed and apparently sent a crash report to Mozilla. I restarted it and it exhibited the problem where I could not expand the folder listing on the first account in my list. I restarted Thunderbird 52.2.0 again and all was back to normal EXCEPT the date order of the first account's inbox was set to default. I've never had any issues with this program over the years... only this latest update.

Do you have multiple accounts and this only happens with gmail? Does problem stop if you have started Thunderbird in safe mode?
