Google Chrome is a web browser, not an e-mail program. So trying to get e-mail links in Windows to invoke Google Chrome is not easy. Of course, you want e-mail links to invoke Google Chrome and to go to your webmail and have your webmail deal with the e-mail link.

For some reason, I just cannot remember how to do that. I like Thunderbird.

Try googling "mapi gmail" or the like.
