After I have cleared history (all boxes checked), there are still items in my about:cache listing (the disk cache, not the memory cache). There are three amazon.com cookies which appear every time I open a Firefox session (Firefox ver. 48 with Mac Mountain Lion). When I check the path for the storage of these three cookies, the path does not exist in my Library folder—some alphanumeric subfolder to Profiles. I have tried CCleaner, Onyx, and other software to clear these cookies and none works. Can I erase these directly from about:cache? Thanks,

Here is some additional information: The disk storage location is listed as: /Users/robertsmith/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/juvh325a.default/cache2 The <Profiles> folder is empty and a search for juvh325a.default is unsuccessful. This folder does not exist on my computer. I use Tracking Protection and clear all history at the end of each session.

Make sure that you can access hidden folders.

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.

I have full access to my hidden folders. Have event run script in Terminal to insure all hidden folders are visible. Have searched ~Library a number of times and the suspect folder doesn't exist. I did manage to find it once after I had quit Firefox but deleting the offending folder (juvh325a.default) did not solve the problem. I tried redirecting Firefox disk cache but the offending three cookies (amazon.fr, amazon.cn, and amazon.com) still appear whenever I first start Firefox. The Clear History routine will remove them but, if I quit Firefox and then restart it, they appear again and have to be deleted. I'd like to be able to go to the disk cache and manually delete those locations that show up in the about:cache when I first start up.

You can use the button on the about:profiles page to go to the location used for the disk cache (Local Directory).
