Can not append new text after pasting table on bottom of message

Hello,

I write a new email message and want to copy in a table from somewhere else - e.g. word/excel or another email someone sent me. Pasting in the table works without problem, but when I paste it in the last line of the Email, then I am not able to add more text below that email. The bottom-most position that the cursor is able to go to is the last cell inside the table, and any attempt to add more text below will always either add text within that last cell, or append a new table row at the end of the table. But I can not get outside of the table and append more plain text below that table.

A workaround is to make sure that there is at least one more line below the position at which I psate in the table. But if I forget that, then I can not find a way to insert anything below that table I pasted in.

I tried reproducing this problem with a table that I created inside the message editor, but it does not happen for those. It only happens for tables that are copy-and-pasted in.

To reproduce the problem, simply start a new email (delivery format is "auto-detect", so probably using rich text internally; definitely not plain text) type a few lines, position the table on the bottom of the message and then paste in a table. Then try to write more text below that table.

If you start a new email and just paste in the table right away, you can not add text above nor below that table.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or is this a bug?

Thanks you!

I get exactly that problem in Word, too. And also in inserting text before a table or image inserted at the top of the document. Since Microsoft don't see fit to fix it, I've just learnt to swear under my breath and start over again with the manually inserted empty line before I paste. It should also be fairly easy to cut the table or image, create some empty lines then paste it back in again with buffer lines above and below.

The problem is getting the insertion point into exactly the right place between html tags. An html source editor might help you do this.

Stationery provides one, or you could try this add-on:
