Thunderbird 38.0 slow when deleting or moving an email. Not slow when running Windows 7 Professional Edition in the safe mode

Since a couple of days Thunderbird 38.0 reacts slow when I want to delete or move an email. The problem doesn't occur when I run Windows 7 Professional Edition in the safe mode, but I can't find out what causes the problem.

Note: I have tried disabling my anti-virus software (Norman Security Suite), but the problem continues to occur.

Ah, Norton!

Well, TBH you can't always trust disabling these programs. It is very likely Norton.

Without changing the settings of my anti-virus software or Thunderbird the problem doesn't occur anymore. Thank you for helping anyway.
