HTML audio doesn't work, any way to fix this simply, without me having to learn code or anything?

Trying to play audio on SoundCloud isn't working for me, as well as any other sites that make use of HTML audio. All that happens is that weird squeaky sounds start playing, and then Firefox will crash afterwards. It works fine when I try it in other browsers.

What is the installation path of the mcmpgdec.dll file if you search for this file?

That would tell you what software is causing this issue.

Please provide your Crash Report ID#'s.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Those 3 crashes were caused by something named mcmpgdec.dll, which is related the MainConcept MPEG Stream Decoder.

I not sure if that file is related to one of these Plugins that you have installed or which one. -VLC media player Web Plugin -WildTangent Games App V2 Presence Detector -iTunes Detector Plug-in

My advice is disable each of those plugins one at a time to see which one is using that DLL file.

Sorry, I disabled all of them and the problem still persisted.

I found the file and deleted it, but now it's no longer crashing just not playing the sounds. Should I go and delete the program it was attached to entirely?

Oh wait, I fixed it.
