When I updated to the latest version of Firefox a couple of weeks, my home page changed to windows x live, I have changed it several times but it always defaults back when i reboot, very frustrating. I've used Firefox from the very beginning and this is the first real problem I have encountered. I hope you can help me. I've run all the security programs, super spyware, malwares bytes, bit defender,no luck. Jon Hunt

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Hi Jon, does this occur any time you exit Firefox and start it up again, or only when you shut down Windows and restart your system again?

It's puzzling that anyone would want to change your home page to WindowsXLive. Is IE getting set to that same home page?

By the way, there are unfortunately a number of "fake" Firefox update/download bundles advertised on search engines that add unwanted items to Firefox. If you haven't checked recently, please open the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help surface undisclosed bundle items that snuck in over the past few weeks. Take out as much trash as possible here.
