I know how to back up my profile. I only accidentally deleted my trash folder, so I just want to copy it back. But there are multiple files with a name that starts with "trash." So....which file(s) must I copy back in order to restore my trash?

I am guessing the one simply called "Trash" with no extension and/or the one "Trash.msf." Is this right?

Thanks!

"Trash" with no extension is the one containing your deleted messages.

If Trash is a folder on an IMAP server and the messages are gone on the server also, the restore procedure would be slightly different.
