I use Exchange for work and Google Calendar for life. I have already managed to get these both to show in Thunderbird, but now I would like to have the events from each calendar to copy to the other (so that I could see everything on Google's calendar web page and I could also let the Mrs see when I'm busy).

Has anybody ever created an extension or some other trick to sync the events between calendars?

I think you might stand a far better chance of a meaningful answer in a Google forum.

That is Synchronize Google calendar to exchange. (I am sure there is a paid way, but I am no expert on the topic at all). There is nothing to make the link using Lightning that I am aware of.
