Firefox directory disappeared, but the program still works
Firefox directory disappeared, but the program still works for some reason. I searched the whole computer but it wont appear. I tried uninstalling firefox from the control panel, but it doesn't appear. I am using windows XP. Any suggestions? I am using a backup copy from my flash drive to type this.

What do you mean that the Firefox directory disappeared?
Is the Firefox program folder no longer there?
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
If you start Firefox via a desktop shortcut then you should see the installation path in its properties via the right-click context menu.
Note that the Firefox profile folder is in a hidden location.
- C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
The directory just disappeared. I don't have a shortcut, I use the start menu shortcut.
I think that on XP you only can disable IE and hide the desktop shortcut.
Try:
If you right-click the Start menu shortcut > Properties can you locate the directory from which Firefox is running?
No, it doesn't even show up. Whenever I right click the shortcut and select properties, it sends me to the start menu properties!
