The back and forward navigation arrows on address bar seem to have 'died' !!.... I have to go through right click to move around which is inconvenient...how can I restore the function ??...

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
