I have eight bookmarks on my bookmarks bar, and every one of them links to one of three ad sites instead of to the website it is supposed to link to. When I go to "Organize Bookmarks," none of my correct bookmarks show up; only the three ad sites show. I cannot delete any of these. Every time I add another bookmark, one of the ad sites attaches itself to it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and have deleted the folder that contains bookmark info from the Preferences or Library folder in the System folder (can't remember exactly what). I also cannot access some secure websites.

This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
