anytime I run an application that requires flash player it crashes FF 3.6.11, but the same application works fine in IE8. If it is flash player why does it work in IE8?

There are two different versions of Shockwave Flash, the ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers including Firefox.

See if anything here helps you:

None of that helped. My wife's computer has exact same version of FF and Flash and everything works. The only difference is her computer is Win 7 32 bit Home and mine is Win 7 64 bit Professional. What happens is I load any flash video site, the screen turns green, I get audio only and after 2 seconds, FF is locked up. The only way out is task manager and kill plugin-container which gives a Flash error and tells you to reload page. (causes problem again) Plugin-c0ntainer is using 25% of my processor when it crashes. (Dual core I3)
