My page is shrunk. The zoom only affects the size of the text on the page - not the overall layout of the page. How do I spread out the page?

When I open any tab in Firefox, the entire content of the page is condensed to the center of the screen (with ~ 4" empty grey space/margins on both sides). The Zoom option only affects the size of the font, not the layout of the page being displayed.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac) See Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages and Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages ....................
