I am using a Mac running Big Sur 11.6. Thunderbird is my only mail server and I am running 91.1.2. When I open Thunderbird, it no longer checks for mail. It did until yesterday. Nothing has changed. I went to Account Settings, Server Settings and the box is checked to check for mail upon opening. I turned the computer off, then on. I unchecked the Server Settings box, closed Thunderbird, then opened it, then rechecked the box and close then open and no joy. Any ideas on what else to do?

do you have an anti virus program? That sounds like something they manage from time to time.
