I can't figure out how to disable attaching the PGP key by default. People not used to PGP encryption (sadly very many) get confused by this ".asc attachment which they can't open".

How do I set it up so the public key is NOT attached by default (i.e. so I don't have to uncheck this option in the Security menu)?

I figured out how to disable attaching the public key by default:

- Open the about:config page (e.g. by searching for config in the settings) - search for pgp - double-click on mail.identity.default.attachPgpKey so it is set to false

The pgp key is then not automatically attached by default.
