I think RTMP refers to a connection to a remote media server.

What file do you have? Is it an SWF file? Are you able to play it any better in another browser, such as Internet Explorer 11?

Did you enable the Flash plugin for the page? This article has more info: Why do I have to click to activate plugins?

Some time ago, Firefox stopped running local SWF files (in the address bar, starts with file:// instead of http:// or https://). If you need to run local Flash files, you can change a setting:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste http_ and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the plugins.http_https_only preference to switch the value from true to false

You can switch it back when you are done with the local file.

I did exactly as you said but still get the same exact.

Many thanks

Your page still says Flash is not enabled, even after you activated it? I would contact the person who sent it to you to see whether they are aware of the reason for that.

That was my first step & the answer I received was that my computer is trying to use flash to play the video, & the question is whether flash is installed in my computer already & am I able to watch other videos. He said that's the extent of his knowledge... Could you enlighten me if flash is in fact installed in my computer & only needed the activation you suggested I do, or do I actually need to install it first? Thank you!

Your Firefox told this forum that Flash 32 is installed. You can double-check on the Add-ons page, Plugins panel. More info in this article: Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems.

I assume Shockwave flash 32.0 r0 as on side panel is same as Flashplayer32_xa_install.exe that I installed in downloads? Do you think I'd better uninstall flash & reinstall yet again, or maybe it's a firewall that so far I haven't been able to deactivate - I have Bitdefender - ? Thanks
