Each time I set my view inbox e-mails in order of date received with the newest on top and in descending order, the View order reverts back to Date and Ascending Order. Once set I want it to stay.

Hi, I do not know. But posting your question over in the Thunderbird Forum https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/ will get you a answer I am sure, as this is Firefox for Desktops, tablets.

Thunderbird opens just like you closed it unless you have software like CCleaner thinking it knows better and erasing your prefs files.
