i would like to know if there is any chance that we can bypass some rss feed validations somehow.

the problem is that i cannot subscribe to some rss feeds properly, such as the following one from nytimes: https://www.nytimes.com/svc/collections/v1/publish/nytimes.com/by/jesse-green/rss.xml

i understand that there are web standards and specs and arguments like that (https://goo.gl/LEqrUF) but it is really odd when it can be supported as live bookmarks in firefox but not a feed/mail reader thunderbird.

any suggestions or workarounds are appreciated.

When the TB built-in feed reader fails to accept a particular feed, I try an alternate tool such as Bamboo Feed Reader. It works in TB 52 and accepts your nytimes feed without complaint.
