Hi, In tools | options | attachments it is set to Save files to a specific folder, that was selected via browse.

When I receive an attachment and select save, it does not automatically select this folder but my desktop. Any idea why please?

check the settings are still set in Options.

Confirm :you have chosen a specific folder - not in Thunderbird, but elsewhere on your computer in eg: Documents

click on OK

Hi, Thanks. It was not in Thunderbird and although it looked like it was selected in the folder window, it wasn't actually selected. If that makes sense!
