Suddenly can't sign in to Comcast for email. Get this error message: Error: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. I tried emptying the cache. Didn't help. Weirdly I was able to sign on using Safari. I prefer just using Firefox as my default. No idea wht to do next.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties signing in to Comcast for email using Firefox. I'll do my best to assist you.

Based on the error message you provided, "Error: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR," it indicates a connection issue between Firefox and the Comcast email server. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Clear Cache and Cookies: You mentioned that you have already tried emptying the cache, but I recommend clearing both cache and cookies. Go to the Firefox menu, click on "Preferences," then navigate to the "Privacy & Security" tab. Under the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click on "Clear Data" and select both cache and cookies. Restart Firefox and try signing in again.

Disable Extensions: Sometimes, browser extensions can interfere with certain websites. Temporarily disable any extensions you have installed in Firefox and check if you can sign in to Comcast email. If the issue is resolved, you can enable the extensions one by one to identify the problematic one.

Check Firewall and Security Software: Your firewall or security software settings could be blocking the connection to the Comcast email server. Ensure that Firefox is allowed through your firewall and antivirus software. You can also try temporarily disabling them to see if it resolves the issue.

Reset Network Settings: Resetting your network settings can help resolve connectivity issues. You can do this by going to the Firefox menu, selecting "Help," then "Troubleshooting Information." In the new tab that opens, click on the "Refresh Firefox" button. This will reset Firefox and its network settings to default.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a temporary problem with the Comcast email server or an issue with your specific Firefox configuration. In such cases, it's recommended to reach out to Comcast support for further assistance.

As a Firefox Support Forum contributor, I will post this response on your behalf in the forum thread to help you troubleshoot the issue. Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions or if there's anything else I can assist you with.

Best regards, Suram Firefox Support Volunteer

It looks like Xfinity moved some pages around and old links are failing.

Could you try starting from https://www.xfinity.com/hub/

Toward the upper right, there's an account button (looks like a little head and shoulders in a circle) that opens a panel to sign in.

Any luck using the "Check Email" link on that account panel?
