One of my bookmark folders has vanished but the others remain.

The one bookmarks folder I use the most has totally vanished from the bookmarks listing. All the others are still there & usable but all attempts to bring it back have failed although it would seem that many of the individual items have just been dumped at random amongst other bookmarks. It seems there has been a lot of problems with bookmarks from the latest update but has anyone been able to solve this?

You can check if you have an older backup with the missing bookmarks.

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

If you notice a drop in the bookmarks count as shown in the file name of the available backups then this can indicate that some bookmarks were deleted You can restore an older copy in this case to restore the lost bookmarks.

The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.

No, it is a issue.

If do below then once have them organized, will always have them if update/over write them when need to. Mine started in 95. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer

Turn on Firefox Menu Bar. Mouse to top then Right Click then Click Menu Bar. Will be easier to organize and look.

Please update to version 57.0.2 for fixes : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Managed to finally get it back by trial & error but not sure now how I achieved it. If I am able to retrace my steps I will post the details in case it helps someone else.
