Hi RocketJacks, could you describe where you are searching in more detail?

It sounds as though you might be using the address bar or one of Firefox's search bars to submit a query to your default search engine. Which one is having the problem?

If the problem occurs while using a website (instead of a search box provided by Firefox itself), which site is it?

Yes. I'm using both the Firefox toolbar search and the centrally located "search the web" bar also. Thanks for your quick response.

Are you using one of the built-in search engines as your default, or is it something added on? You mentioned that Norton works; which one or which ones do not work?

I'm trying to use the built in search from Firefox (it returns that error message); the Norton safe search does work. thx.
