Thunderbird stopped downloading messages. It connects to the server but the box is completely "green" in color.
I have Time Warner Roadrunner email and when I select "retrieve messages" the message at the bottom of the Thunderbird screen says "connecting to "mail.twc.com" and then changes to "connected to mail.twc.com" and nothing happens. The rectangular box at the bottom right of the screen is completely filled with the color green. This usually is colored green when mail is downloading. Does this mean that a document is partially downloaded and blocking all other documents?

it usually means something is choked up. Have you tried restarting your computer?
Yes, I tried restarting many times and it didn't have any effect. Luckily, after about 4 days, the problem cleared by itself. Thanks for the reply
I am having the same problem again. This time I checked the "error console" under "tools" and found the following message: Timestamp: 10/14/2016 7:12:50 AM Error: An error occurred executing the cmd_getNewMessages command: [Exception...
