Why does it not matter that I tell Firefox NOT to search for updates, nor install, yet you somehow override those settings anyway and fuck up my Norton Toolbar
Details are in summation. You allow the option to NOT have Firefox search for updates, yet when selected, you have a way of overriding those options and update and install with out my consenting! I hate you guys for that. At least IE respects my selections and does NOT force an update. You guys suck!

This is RIDICULOUS!! Mozilla is absolutely RABID about update, update, update, update. Settings magically get changed and this GODDAMN thing does WTF it wants.
Worse - I go in and tell it NOT to update, restart it, and the xxxx continues to do what it wants!!!!
I am a DEVELOPER - you know - the ones who write stuff that this xxx browser can use. It is entirely inappropriate, wrong, overbearing, and xxxxxxxx that you xxxx UP my systems and waste my time and aggravation!
Who THE xxxx do you think you are? Microsoft?? You sure act that way.

Yup - you're right. I am a 38-year developer and have not seen this kind of overbearing arrogance with most software companies - other than MS of course.
But when my systems get wrecked repeatedly costing time and effort then, on the manyTH time frist thing on a Monday I lose my temper. It IS utterly fucking ridiculous and unjustifiable, plain and simple.
We truly wish we did not have to support this POS for our product line. And technical games that are constantly being played between the browser competitors hurt everyone. And Mozilla MAKES IT WORSE with this kind of bullshit.
Running out of date versions of Browsers is bad for the web (If you are a dev you should know what a headache it is to have to support many old versions of browsers, see IE6 for an example) plus old versions have security issues and known bugs that have been fixed.
Plus, your norton toolbar will work with Firefox 32, just update it.
I'm not the one with Norton problems. I'm the one who wants Firefox update settings to not get magically changed so I can control the version I'm developing against and our customers can avoid very nasty surprises.
"The Web", in our product's case, has nothing to do with it. We have a closed LAN-based application system. When Firefox FORCES updates (wrongfully so) all it does is cause massive problems for us. All of a sudden our tech support gets hammered because Firefox chose to force an untested update on our clients. We have similar problems with Oracle and Java. But Firefox is by far the worst.
So again - forcing updates on people is WRONG and completely unjustifiable. I don't care what the Mozilla argument may be - REALITY is we get steamrolled into a huge costly fire drill.
Mozilla cannot and should not think everyone everywhere has to be forced on to their bleeding trendy flashy BS edge. Some people need to get their jobs done!!
Unfortunately for us we cannot drop support for Firefox - otherwise we would and tell our customers to stay away from it.
Firefox updates are the furthest thing from "Untested", having run through 6+ weeks on Nightly, 6 weeks on aurora and then 6 more weeks on beta before being released. You could test these pre-release versions 12+ weeks in advance to make sure your systems would work if you wanted.
Alternatively, tell your employees to use the Firefox Enterprise version, which updates once a year and gives you a year to test out new features and changes.......
