Upgrading from FF 15.1 to Firefox 16, the Bookmark menu is very laggy. Moving the mouse is slow in menu.

This is a continuation of a thread that was closed, despite the persistence of the problem in v18: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/939193 .

The issue is that, in the default theme, adding, deleting, rearranging, and sometimes just scrolling through bookmarks is incredibly laggy. Problem goes away when theme is changed to, for example, Firefox White.

Here are the errors that pop up in the console after a few rearrangements in the bookmark list:

Oh, and theme I changed to that eliminates the problem is "Simple White", not "Firefox White".
